Set up an AI receptionist in 10 minutes: the complete walkthrough
Agentric Team ·
The Agentric onboarding is designed to take under ten minutes if you have your details handy. Here's the exact path, with the moments people typically stall — and how not to.
Before you start (30 seconds of prep)
Have ready: your business hours, a list of your main services with rough prices, and your Google account login if you use Google Calendar. That's everything.
Step 1 — Account (1 min)
Sign up with email + password. Your organisation is created automatically — this is your tenant, the container everything lives in.
Step 2 — Business profile (2 min)
Business name, industry, timezone, contact details. This feeds your landing page and the agent's knowledge. Pick a brand colour — it themes your page and widget.
Step 3 — Services & hours (2 min)
Add what you offer: name, typical duration, price label ("£85", "from £40", "free quote"). Set your opening hours per day — these drive what the assistant can offer for bookings.
Step 4 — FAQs (2 min)
Add the questions customers always ask: "Are you Gas Safe?", "Do you cover X?", "Call-out charge?". Start with 4–6 — you can add forever later. Anything that doesn't fit, drop in the free-text notes.
Step 5 — Calendar (1 min)
Click "Connect Google Calendar", approve, done. Your real busy time now blocks bookings. Skip it and the assistant falls back to booking requests.
Step 6 — Phone (1 min)
Choose: forward your existing number when busy/unanswered (dial codes shown for your carrier), forward all calls, or request a provisioned Agentric number. The SIP/webhook details appear immediately.
Step 7 — Widget & go live (1 min)
Copy the embed snippet for your website — or just use your free hosted page at agentric.agency/sites/your-slug. Toggle "agent live".
Step 8 — Test it
The test console lets you chat with your assistant right now. Try: "how much is a boiler service?", "are you open Saturday?", "book me in Thursday afternoon". If it stumbles on anything, add that answer to the knowledge base — that's the whole tuning loop.
Done. The phone forwards, the widget's live, the calendar's connected. The whole thing genuinely fits in ten minutes — and the test call is the moment it clicks.
